Learning to feel comfortable being your true self online is definitely a learning process.⁣

Finding the balance between what feels good to share + what to keep private can be tricky, and even more so for therapists who are used to adhering to stricter boundaries behind the scenes with their clients (for good reason!), but now have the opportunity + desire to share more openly on social media.⁣

This is why I’m so thrilled to welcome my friend Danielle Sangalli onto the podcast this week. She is a Licensed Marriage + Family Therapist and Relationship Coach, and we had a fantastic conversation around how in recent years, these mental health care boundaries have felt blurry, especially when it comes to seeing more transparent shares on social media. We also talk about the upside that can be found in everyone sharing more of their humanity – the good and the bad – online for others to witness.⁣

Join us as we talk about:⁣

✨ Danielle’s personal experience which led to the creation of the Single Spousing™️ brand and how it allows her to find new levels of empathy + connection with her clients⁣

✨ What it’s like as a therapist having to hold neutral space for clients while also going through challenging times yourself⁣

✨ The popularity of “insta-therapy” and how it can impact our mental health (whether we realize it or not) and the perceptions we have of ourselves + others⁣

✨ How does it affect your perception + trust of therapists sharing more vulnerably online when you may be unconsciously holding them to a higher mental health “standard”?⁣

✨ Danielle’s advice for therapists (or anyone) who wants to show up online more openly + have it feel valuable for others, rather than just oversharing in a way that feels like it’s “too much”⁣

✨ Her thoughts on how therapists have an opportunity to create a new standard around sharing about the normal things we ALL struggle with to foster even more real connection⁣
